Abstract

Information is a kind of asset which has power in several senses. Information is actually considered as an important factor for the development and up gradation method or kind of way for community and society. Information Infrastructure is actually a new term used to understand broad concept to deal with information foundation or overall information systems. Information Infrastructure is actually combination of so many information foundations which includes information centre, information networks, information and knowledge grid, corporate information division, libraries, internet systems, community information systems and so on. Information Infrastructure plays an important role in higher education and especially secondary education; for further utilization of secondary education systems. This paper presents the information about infrastructure; which includes its meaning, role and characteristics. It also mentions the challenges and issues of healthy Information Infrastructure established in Indian secondary schools, briefly.
