Suicide has become one of the biggest social problems of present time. It is a common headline of
the newspapers and media in our society. Still it remains a silent issue of discussion with no
significant efforts being done to stop and prevent this act. The society is unvoiced in this issue till
today. People who commit suicide are often plagued by feelings of sadness and hopelessness that
they think they have no other alternative left. Generally, it is very difficult to interpret the behavior
of the individuals who are having suicidal tendencies. These people indicate some warning signs
during their obsession period. It's essential to identify these warning signs so one can help a family
member or a friend who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. Counseling and caring these
depressed individuals can prevent a tragic suicide attempt or death. This paper mainly focuses on
the suicide among students in India, its causes and prevention steps to stop suicides cases
