Abstract

Growing concern of landfill space and pollution is encouraging various agencies and authorities to
determine the potential uses of waste materials in highway construction. The governmental
agencies are instructing the researchers to find such uses of waste material to the maximum
economical and practical extent possible with equal or improved performance. This strategy would
also help in preserving the limited quota of various raw materials like aggregates. This paper
discusses the use of various waste materials that can be efficiently used while practicing the
sustainable methods of constructing highway pavement.
