Cognitive Abilities and Functional Skills among Teacher Educators Regarding Hardware Educational Technologies
The present study is a sincere effort to explore the cognitive ability and functional skill of teacher educators regarding hardware educational technologies. Keeping in view the nature of study, the descriptive method was chosen and the data were collected through survey method. The sample consisted of randomly selected 300 teacher educators teaching in various teacher training institutions of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. A "Hardware Educational Technology Cognitive and Functional Ability Inquiry Schedule" (H.E.T.C & F.A.I.S) was developed and standardized by the researchers to assess the data regarding cognitive and functional skills of teacher educators about various modern and traditional hardware educational technologies. The data collected by the relevant tool was analyzed using simple percentage statistics. Findings revealed that the teacher educators were having different cognitive and functional skills regarding different modern and traditional hardware educational technologies. However it was observed that the cognitive abilities and functional skills of teacher educators for various modern and traditional hardware educational technologies were directly interrelated. The functional skills for the equipments about which the teacher educators were having low cognitive ability was found to be low.
